Terms of use
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and OÜ Trilevik (registry code 12337963, Rüütli 7, 51007 Tartu, Estonia; "we") for playing Word Quarry at playwordquarry.com. By playing, you accept them. If you don't, please don't play. What the game keeps about you is in the privacy policy.
The game
- Word Quarry is free. There is nothing to buy.
- We may change the game, its boards, rules, scoring and features, to improve it, keep it fair or keep it running.
- Keys, experience, levels, streaks, medals and anything else you earn in the game have no money value. They cannot be bought, sold, exchanged or transferred, and they may change as the game does.
- We try to keep the game running and right, but it may sometimes be unavailable, slow or wrong. We may correct a score the game got wrong.
Your guest and your account
- You play as a guest, which lives in your browser. If you clear the site's data, or play on another device or browser, you start again as a new guest, and we cannot move the old guest's game to the new one.
- If you are 13 or older, you can make an account with an email and a password. It keeps your game and lets you play on any device. Keep your password to yourself: what is done with your account is done by you. One account per person.
- When you log in to an account on a device, the guest that device played as stays behind: its game is not moved into the account.
Fair use
- Play fairly. Don't use bots, scripts or other tools to play for you, don't use several guests to get an advantage, don't try to get around the game's checks or its limits on how often something can be done, and don't take advantage of a fault: tell us about it instead.
- Don't try to harm the game, its servers or other players, or to reach data that is not yours.
- Don't use the game's forms to send email to anyone who did not ask for it, or to guess anyone's password. The forms are protected against this, and getting around that protection is not allowed.
Names and what others see
- Your name is shown to other players on the daily leaderboard and the word boards, and beside words you found first on the day's word lists unless you hide it. The privacy policy says what is shown and for how long.
- A guest's name is given by the game, such as "Guest 48213". An account chooses its name, which belongs to that account alone. A name you choose must not insult, threaten or harass anyone, be hateful or sexual, pretend to be someone else, give anyone's personal details, or advertise anything.
- Messages you send us must not do any of these things either.
- Quarries. A quarry you build is made only of your own words of the day, laid by you, and shows your name and your score. You may share its link anywhere. We may take a quarry down if it breaks these terms, and its letters are checked by the same filter as the word lists before it is published.
How we moderate
- Automatically: a filter checks chosen names against the rules above and refuses those that break them, and keeps offensive words off the public word lists. It never changes a score.
- By a person: someone at OÜ Trilevik reads every report and every message, and makes every other decision: changing a name, or limiting or ending a player's access.
- Telling you why: if we change your name or limit or end your access, we tell you in the game, in ⋯ → Feedback: what we did, the rule or law it rests on, whether it was found automatically, and that you can write back to ask us to look again.
Reporting
A quarry can be reported from its page in the game: Report this quarry, with a reason. If you see a name or anything else in the game that you think breaks these terms or the law, tell us in ⋯ → Feedback or at support@playwordquarry.com: say where it is and why. A person looks at every report, and we tell you what we decided. Anything that puts someone's life or safety at risk, we pass to the police.
What you send us
We read every message, though we may not answer every one. If you suggest something, such as a word to add, we may use it without paying for it.
Ours and others'
The game, its boards, look and texts belong to OÜ Trilevik. The word list and other sources we use, and their licences, are listed on the About page. You are welcome to share screenshots and results.
Word meanings the game shows come from Wiktionary, written by its volunteers, and stay under Wiktionary's licence, CC BY-SA 4.0. Each meaning shows where it comes from, and we may shorten it. We cannot promise that a meaning is complete or right.
Ending
- You can stop playing at any time, and ask us to delete your guest or your account (see the privacy policy).
- We may limit or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the law, and we tell you why.
- If we close the game, we tell you in the game at least 30 days before.
Changes to these terms
We change these terms only for a valid reason: a change in the law or a decision of a court or authority, a new or changed feature, security, or stopping abuse. We tell you in the game at least 30 days before a change that affects you applies, unless the law or security needs it sooner. If you don't agree, you can stop playing and ask us to delete your guest or your account.
Liability
- The game is free and provided as it is.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury, for harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, or any other liability the law does not allow us to limit.
- Otherwise, as far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost game progress, scores or items, or for the game being unavailable.
Law and disputes
Estonian law applies. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection the mandatory law of that country gives you. You can take a dispute to the courts of Estonia or of the country where you live. Please write to support@playwordquarry.com first: most things are sorted out that way.
